By: Weber Way to Wellness Reporter

INTRO
Alicia Weber, World’s Most Prolific Female Record Setter in World History, had her best year to date in 2012 for record setting and wins. Alicia set 205 world records all in strict form exercise events with RecordSetter (and 4 with Book of Alternative Records in Separate categories) in JUST ONE YEAR (2012). Alicia began 2012 with an induction into the Official Pushup Hall of Fame (and only woman inducted in Hall of Fame). Then, she was selected as One of the Top 25 Extreme and Elite Athletes to represent in articles for the mindset of toughness and nutrition for performance. As a premiere fitness trainer, she guided 6 athletes to a total 13 exercise world records. Ending the year, Alicia earned the 6th Most Popular Recordsetter World Record set in the year 2012 (out of 10,313 record set this year!!). Following these accolades, Alicia took 6 victories in elite competition and competed in 4 sports. Alicia’s 2012 athletic highlight was becoming the 10k Beach Running World Champion for the 2nd year in a row enroute to re-setting the course record. In total, Alicia garnered 81 career victories out of 199 competitions and holds 162 world records to date (and set a total of 270 world records that includes records set and re-set). We now look back at the 205 Recordsetter records she set in 2012 and pick out Alicia’s Top 10 Toughest Exercise Records that she set based on level of difficulty, exercise dynamics, and level of conditioning to achieve the record.

Alicia reviews and rates these records from 10 to 1 (toughest record set) and takes into account fans input as well, but Alicia ultimately will know which one is the toughest to set.

Here are Alicia’s Top 10 Toughest Records that she set and holds in the year 2012:

Rope Climbing Removed from Olympics, But Sport is Still ALIVE!

BY: Weber Way to Wellness Reporter

If rope climbing was still an Olympic sport, Alicia Weber (multiple Rope Climbing World Record Holder) would be hauling in gold medals for Team USA!!

Rope climbing was contended in the Olympics first in the late 1800’s with the event that is Alicia’s specialty – L position arms only rope climbing. However, given the level of difficulty and too few competitors, the event was changed to arms only rope climbing with legs dangling in 1904 and remained that way thru the 1932 Olympics and then rope climbing was removed all together starting in the 1936 Olympics.

Alicia Weber is one of the few competitors still tackling rope climbing where she has amassed a dozen world records between the Record Books (Book of Alternative Records and RecordSetter World Records).

I ask Alicia what is her motivation to keep rope climbing. Alicia says, “It is very challenging and I like challenges. I get bored with the same old athletic events and rope climbing offers a twist to sports and builds great physical fitness.”

Alicia broke her L-Position Arms Only 12ft Rope Climb record by nearly a full second during the London Olympics. Alicia says, “I got excited watching the Olympics and thought about what it would be like if I was around in the late 1800’s – early 1900’s and could go for Olympic gold – that motivated me to blow away the world record!”

Alicia re-set the 12ft L-Position Rope Climb record that starts in seated position in a time of 3.96 seconds on July 31, 2012. In comparison, female gymnasts take an Elite Physical Fitness Abilities Test and their best in a similar L position climb has been 4.99 seconds and Alicia’s former record for the event was 4.8 seconds.

In Alicia describing her excitement of the physical fitness challenges rope climbing offers, she attempted a totally new type of record combining running with arms only speed rope climbing for the Ultimate Cardio/Strength Workout!

On August 3, 2012, in the Florida 90 degree heat, Alicia attempted the first ever 1500m run with 96ft Arms Only Rope Climb. Alicia climbs 12ft arms only after every other 100m and starts in a seated position and does this for a total of 8 climbs during her 1500m run. She completed the effort in a new benchmark of 7 minutes and 18 seconds.

Alicia Completes 1500m Run with 96ft Arms Only Rope Climb for new record.

With the many physical fitness challenges Alicia tests with rope climbing and her re-setting of world records in speed rope climbing, Alicia is keeping the sport of rope climbing ALIVE and well!

Alicia Weber’s Aerobic Capacity Wellness World Record for National Heart Health Month!

By:  Weber Way to Wellness Reporter Click here to visit JD Productions.

CLERMONT, FL (Feb 19, 2012)—February is National Heart Health Month and Fitness Expert Alicia Weber is celebrating by establishing and setting a new aerobic capacity wellness benchmark.

Aerobic Capacity Wellness is the direct measurement of one’s cardiovascular fitness.  It’s not just about getting to peak speed, but how long one can hold a peak speed.  Aerobic means “with oxygen” and an individual’s peak capability for delivering oxygen to muscles.  Most people think of aerobics as running, walking, biking, or taking the 1.5 mile run test.  Alicia thinks beyond this picture though.

Alicia studied 30 fitness clients and researched and tested them in hundreds of conditioning exercises over the course of 6-months in 2011 to find the most effective and results-driven exercises for overall physical fitness gains.  Not only did Alicia see results with these exercises, but so did clients as clients in a 6 week period increased arm strength by an average 40 %  and by an average 33% they increased leg strength. Alicia now takes the 4 top conditioning exercises that showed to be the best for overall physical fitness gains and attacks these exercises one after the other in an ALL OUT aerobic capacity wellness challenge, which she calls “400 Rep Aerobic Capacity Wellness Challenge.”  Alicia sets the world record for the fastest to complete this challenge!

Alicia Weber demonstrates Aerobic Capacity Wellness as she holds her heart rate at 95% of her max heart rate for over 20 minutes and performs these multi-dimensional exercises that incorporate the 5 areas of fitness and test aerobic capacity wellness.  Alicia has a very high Vo2max of 67.05 ml/kg/min achieved during her 1.5 mile run test and even in that test her heart rate did not peak as high and as long as it does in this challenge – Just to say how challenging this challenge really is with these 4 exercises!

Alicia Weber’s World Record in 400 Rep Aerobic Capacity Wellness Challenge time 23 mins and 57 seconds!
