Earth Day 2023 Strength Records, Wild Spectators, and Tips for a Healthy Environment!

By: Weber Way to Wellness Reporter

4/20/23 CENTRAL FLORIDA…Earth Day 2023 comes in with a pull up on a sixteen year old oak tree with some unique strength records, while attracting wild spectators! Alicia Weber who has set hundreds of pull-up world records, since 2009 “pulled out” a few more NEW pull-up records involving the commando aka cliffhanger pull-ups to celebrate Earth Month this April.

Question: How many wildlife spectators came out to watch Alicia set these Earth Day records?

Keep reading to find out…Plus get some tips for your garden!

Alicia wanted to set some new records that would require healthy, large, old trees – to inspire growing and keeping big trees! The first of two records involves maximum strength and in particular grip strength. She used a a tree branch with a minimum circumference of 10 inches. The first record is very tough because it involves slower pull-ups with full range of motion and the “mixed” commando style grip. Every rep starts in a dead hang full extension with strict form. Then, finishes on one side where the shoulder touches the tree branch (a pause) and then return to full extension (with another pause). Then, repeat on the other side and continue till failure. She did 16 reps of the Consecutive Shoulder-to-Shoulder dead stop Commando Pull-ups on the thick tree branch.

Consecutive Shoulder to Shoulder Dead Stop Commando Pull-ups on Thick Tree Branch

Alicia performed another record on the same tree branch (16 year old oak tree/10 inch circumference tree branch). This record is very challenging mixed commando pull-up grip L hang (hanging with legs straight and parallel to ground), but then she finishes with one leg raise. The timer ends when she returns to L position hang. She did 1:07 for this timed event.

Thick Tree Branch Mixed Grip Hanging leg L hold with Hanging Leg Raise Finisher

Finally, Alicia’s third and final Earth Day Record promotes outdoor fitness and going to an exercise trail. She gets in a great workout on the parallel bars. She uses the parallel bars and climbs 10ft by doing a side-to-side commando pull-up then moving her arms forward and repeating the pull-up. She completes the 10ft challenge in 25.6 seconds.

Moving side to side Commando pull-up 10ft Climb for time!

Alicia was happy to stretch her strength and creativity and do something special for Earth Month 2023. The wild animals were excited too – she had 5 total wild animal spectators that watched her do these feats! A cardinal sang a song, a wild Maine Coon (world’s largest cat breed) stopped by to pay a visit, and 3 Muscuvy Ducks walked over to Alicia after she completed her last feat (and ducks were NEVER chummy with her before!).

Below are a couple Tips to help your environment and gardens:

1.) Recycle your used egg shells by planting small plants in them (ex. Mother of Thousands). It helps give them nutrients. It also makes planting easy – just put the egg in a pot or in the ground. See Video here of Plants growing in egg shells.

2.) Save your coffee grounds and your egg shells to make a Natural Fertilizer. Grind your old egg shells and mix them with your leftover used coffee grounds. Then, sprinkle the Natural Fertilizer on your potted plants and outdoor gardens and watch your plants grow faster!

Thanks for Reading – Happy Earth Month

World Record Weber Devours 3 Record Challenges for Combined 16 Times in Fall 2022

By: Weber Way to Wellness Reporter

LAKE COUNTY FL 11/29/22—-World Record Weber completes her 99 day “Triple Progression Challenge” beginning on August 23, 2022 and ending November 29, 2022 – setting personal bests 16 times over the course of repeatedly improving on the same 3 challenges. The results and progress of each challenge is below along with videos and details on each of the three challenges.

copyright Ⓒ ALICIA WEBER 2022

Challenge 1: 50 pull-ups + 100 push-ups This is a popular youtube challenge and a long-time fan wanted World Record Weber (WRW) to take on this challenge (where the best guy performed it in 3:26). In each challenge, WRW uses strict form and does 100 consecutive pushups, but that is not required in the youtube challenge (rest breaks allowed). This challenge is the shortest of the three challenges. She saw the most improvement in the shortest amount of time with this challenge.

50 Pull-ups and 100 pushup progession videos starting at 4:23.7 and ending at 2:51.9 (from 10/18/22 – 11/28)

In 42 days (1 month, 11 days) WRW improved by 34.82 percent in this short challenge. Here is the rundown:
10/18/22 performed after a running interval workout in the initial time of 4:23.7
10/23/22 performed in 3:19
10/24/22 performed first thing in morning 3:09.7 continuing with her next second challenge (6 minutes later) with the 210 rep aerobic challenge in 11:31
11/28/22 performed first thing in morning in 2:51.9 continuing with her next second challenge (6 minutes later) with the 210 rep aerobic challenge in her new all time personal best 10:24.3!!

Challenge 2: The 210 Rep Plyo Aerobic Challenge to build done density and overall fitness – WRW invented this challenge to develop power, strength, and stamina. It is an overall leg and arm strengthener in a high aerobic environment. It is currently the longest of the three challenges. It involves mind and body training as a certain form and order has to be followed correctly – 0r else she has to redo reps.

Challenge Details:
1.) 25 reps of 90 degree deep jump squats where bent arm elbows must dip below the bent knees on the squats – repeat 25 times in one direction and 25 times in other direction (50 reps total)
2.) 50 burpee pushups with jump and overhead clap
3.) 50 alternating one leg burpee pushups with jump and overhead clap (150 total reps so far…)
4.) Repeat #1….. (200 reps so far from steps 1-4)
5.) Finally, end with 5 consecutive chest-to-bar pull-ups and 5 consecutive chest-to-bar chin-ups (chest touches bar on each rep to count).

This is Alicia’s first 210 REP Plyo Aerobic Challenge with the initial goal of breaking 15 minutes (she does 14:32)! Over the course of 71 days she progresses to 10:24.3!!!!

210 Rep Plyo Aerobic Progressions and Results:
9/19/22 performed first thing in AM for 14:32
10/3/22 performed first thing in morning 12:55
10/17/22 performed in 11:45
10/24/22 performed in 11:31 (6 minutes after doing her new personal best to date of 3:09 in the 50 pullups and 100 pushups).
11/8/22 performed in 10:53 (she then did the 50 pullups and 100 pushups 6 minutes AFTER the 210 rep challenge).
11/14/22 performed in 11:27 (6 minutes after doing the 50 pullups and 100 pushups in 3:14 – 5 seconds off her best time to date).
11/28/22 performed in 10:24 ( 6 minutes after doing the 50 pullups and 100 pushups in 2:51.9)!!
WRW Improved her speed by 28.45 percent over the course of 71 days (2 months, and 10 days).

Challenge 3: 270 REPS + ? IN 10 MINS – A total core aerobic ab workout that WRW created in August to challenge her core in an aerobic environment. This final challenge involves all core in an aerobic fashion – ALL OUT 10 minute workout for most reps. WRW put a variety of interesting exercises in a series to a get a total body core workout. The goal is to do 270 reps and still have time left over in the 10 minute time frame to do extra reps of a final ab exercise to finish out the 10 minutes. So unlike the other challenges that are are based on improving time – this challenge is to increase reps.

Challenge Details:
1.) 50 reps with 10lbs med ball combo exercise – knee tuck situp (strict form)
2.) 50 reps wide leg flutters in a 6 inch hold
3.) 10 reps of 10lbs med ball chest presses, while maintaining 6 inch hold
4.) 50 reps horizontal leg flutters (aka scissors) in 6 inch hold
5.) 10 reps of 10lbs med ball chest presses, while maintaining 6 inch hold
6.) 50 reps of over-under wide leg flutters in a 6 inch hold
7.) 50 consecutive reps of 22cm diameter med ball pushups (270 reps so far…)
8.) whatever time is remaining – do as many Table Top 10lbs med ball ab twisties (strict form) till 10 minutes. Final Score will be 270 reps + ? = 10 minutes

Above is video of WRW’s best 10 minute AB result with 440 reps!! This was her fifth and final attempt to improve in the longest time frame of improvement of the three challenges (99 days).

In 99 days (3 months and 7 days) WRW improved her 10 minute ab challenge by 38.64 percent. It was the greatest improvement of the three challenges, but she was given the most time to improve as well.
Here are progressions and results:
8/23/22 performed only 270 reps in 10 minutes. She did the 270 reps in 9:43, but did not push herself to do twisties till 10 minutes.
8/24/22 performed a total of 324 reps (270 reps + 54 10lbs med ball ab twisties).
9/2/22 performed a total 374 reps (270 reps + 104 10lbs med ball ab twisties).
10/14/22 performed a total of 405 reps (270 reps + 135 10lbs med ball ab twisties).
11/29/22 performed a total of 440 reps (270 reps + 170 10lbs med ball ab twisties).

Summary: WRW improved by an average of 33.97 percent among all three challenges within the 99 day time frame. Thank you for reading and learning!

World Record Woman brings in 42 years with 13th world championship, 4 world records, race victory, and more!

By: Weber Way to Wellness Reporter

It has been a very busy March 2022 for Alicia Weber – World’s Most Prolific Female Record Holder and strength and endurance athlete. She turned 42 in style…released new strength and flexing show, saw her “Birthday Ghost” in Mt. Dora, FL, attempted to feed cows for the first time, visited the Howey Mansion, won a cross country race, competed in her 13th world championship, re-set 4 pull-up world records, and re-set 2 challenge records (and more).

copyright © Alicia Weber bringing in 42 years in 2022!

She is happy to kick back and reflect on her March achievements and prepare for the future. She had been training for several months to do her first 5k indoor row race. She competed in the Women’s International Day 5k row event and exceeded her goals with a time of 21:38.4 (ranking her 55th lightweight woman in the world) on March 8.

The following day on March 9th she competed in her 13th World Championship – the 1k Sprint Indoor Rowing World Championship. She was very happy to place 35th in World for lightweight women even though she was 10.8 seconds off her best time. She had not done any of her usual sprint interval training to build up for the event, since she had been focusing on distance training.

2022 Indoor Rowing World Sprints Championship

She re-set a series of aerobic pulling exercise records mixed in between her races. On March 6th, she improved a pull-up by 5 reps for consecutive pull-ups with 15 steps per rep (15). On March 10, she broke the youtube hanging 100 leg lift challenge record (re-setting it with 2:20). On March 11, she improved the moving monkey bar consecutive pull-ups by 2 reps (now with 38). On March 14, she improved the consecutive chin-up with 15 steps per chin-up to 14 reps. On March 19, she improved the consecutive hammer grip pull-up with 15 steps per rep to 15 reps. The aerobic pull-ups are more challenging than a regular pull-up due to the increased heart rate. Her heart rate was 120-130 bpm or about 30 beats per minute faster than doing regular pull-ups. Plus, there are more muscle groups utilized in the aerobic pull-ups.

copyright  © Alicia’s March 5 Cross Country Race Victory!

On March 5, she competed in a clay trail race at Showcase of Citrus in Clermont, Fl. It was a competitive field of seasoned cross country runners. She won the women’s race with a 5 second lead on 2nd place and 6 second lead on 3rd place. It was a nail biting finish that she has not had since 1996 at the Junior Olympic National Championship 1500 meter final. Weber won bronze in 1996, but 1-2-3 places were within a couple seconds at the finish line. The finish in this cross country race reminded her of the 1996 Championship 1500 meter race.

On March 22, Weber shaved more than 40 seconds off this 400 rep challenge! It consists of the following: 10 x (10 half burpees + 10 pushups) + 10 x (10 squat thrusts + 10 pushups)

On March 19, Weber completed a 5k cross country run for the USA Not Parkrun Series. It was a fairly flat course with flat, low cut grass. She completed it in 18:40 (her 2nd fastest time ever and season best).

copyright © Alicia Weber

On March 24, Weber did a personal assessment (not a race) for her vo2max in a 1.5 mile run test. She completed it on a flat, grass course. Her time was 8:23. She came through the mile in 5:52. Her score was off the charts for females and males in her age group with 61 ml/kg/min for aerobic capacity wellness and lung capacity result.

Coach Alicia Weber began her Spring Campaign with her own series of record-breaking workouts (shown below) and feats of strength at the Europa Games Fitness Show.

Alicia juggled her own events in April as she had her league consisting of six teams throughout Central Florida compete in a 3 event Series Championship in Self Defense Archery (a highly skilled sport, which tests mental and physical readiness).

The three events become more taxing on the mind and body as they progress through the one month long championship series. All the archer-athletes are in the dark on what will be next to come, but with their grit-determination and focus, they all achieve phenomenal follow-through. This training helps them become Top Students, all around athletes, and good people (building sportsmanship, confidence, and self-esteem).

Clermont’s Team Anime won their THIRD Team Championship title with 1,085 points to defeat their biggest rival (Team Red Rubies) by 29 points. Team Red Rubies placed second with 1,056 points. Records Shattered and Families Amused by Unique Clermont Event

By Alicia Weber

CLERMONT, FL—-This week was highly exciting for me both personally and professionally. First, I pulled off an enormous endurance feat I have been eyeing since first grade…(and seriously training 8 1/2 years to finally be able to do…). I became the first person to complete 1,070 strict pull-ups in one hour, which brings my physical fitness world record count to 835 this week (btw 2 WR books). Four days after this feat, I was holding my own unique event for others in my Bullseye Scavenger Hunt Series # 2 held in conjunction with Farmer’s Market.

There is always some nervousness with the anticipation of these events. I was blown away by the confidence and power exuded in my newest archer, Addie (who is 6 with only one lesson under her belt), when she powerfully shot out a few high scoring arrows in just the “warm up”. I knew a record was on the way…

Watch Addie Shatter Record

The youths understand that they may get nervous the first time they compete and their score may be lower than in practice. However, they know that practice ultimately leads to performance. In the 10 arrow 10 yard shoot for 4 minutes, I saw my seasoned archers do what they have done in practice and my newest archer did set a new record!

BullseyeScavengerHuntnumber2Addie, 6, set the record for the “Highest scorer in a 10 yard 10 arrow competition for 4 minutes from a youth age 6 or under with just one archery lesson” with her score of 9 points.

Ramsey of the Rising Underdogs won the boys archery competition with his score of 55 points (10 points away from the boys youth record). This was his first archery victory.

Nicole of the NS Archers won her first archery competition as well with her score of 74 points (12 points away from the girls youth record). Aisha of the Purple Pandas was following close behind with 72 points and she is currently the female leader in the Series Championship.

Onward, the archers went to Clermont Farmer’s Market for photographic scavenger hunt. It’s a great, fun opportunity to get locals acquainted with farmer’s market and all the vendors. The families work together to hunt down items. However, they not only look for interesting things or people, but they have to try to take the best pictures and complete the scavenger hunt in 20 minutes or less. The Photo Contest Winners are below. I look for close up, sharp, well-taken shots with good lighting and interesting angles.

Archery and Exercise Go Hand In Hand in Clermont Florida

By: Weber Way to Wellness Reporter

Alicia Weber, World’s Most Prolific Female Record Setter, expanded her sporting interests in 2013. She added archery to her list of 16 sports and she developed a new record category.

She trained her first trainee for four months to set the first ever Obstacle Archery World Record in July of 2013.

Then, Weber trained for her own Archery Obstacle records where most records are set at 40 yards distance for archery with standard targets. The record begins with a strict form exercise for fastest time or an exercise to be performed for most reps in a time frame. Immediately after the exercise, the archery takes place with the 3 best arrows out of five possible shots counting for score. The exercise and archery score are combined together for a final score.

Weber is the third athlete to set an archery record at Recordsetter and only the second athlete to set an Obstacle Archery record at Recordsetter. Doug Mcmanaman was the first to bring archery to Recordsetter with his backward archery with a crossbow, which landed him in Top 10 list of Popular Records for 2012.

Alicia Weber set her first ever Obstacle Archery World Record on October 17, 2013 in Clermont, Florida, in 100ft Rope Climb 40 Yd Archery Obstacle for Lowest Score.

Alicia set her second and third world records on October 22, 2013 in 50ft Rope Climb 40 Yd Archery Obstacle for Lowest Score and highest score for most strict pull-ups with 40yd Archery. Alicia then broke this record along with three others on May 1, 2014.
