In the first 90 days of 2023, Alicia “World Record” Weber broke 13 world records, competed in 10 races (winning 6 of them), completed her 15th World Championship, hosted a first-ever Cross Country Versatility Contest, saw hundreds of wild animals, AND MORE….
Alicia finally had time to catch up with her fans on all her 2023 adventures so far. We will start with the countdown on her 13 world records that she broke from Recordsetter, then we will talk about the races, and finally wild animals!
Alicia flew out of the starting blocks on Jan 1st like a sprinter and began attacking her own records that have been sitting around collecting dust for nearly 8 years now! She then engulfed some records that guys held or had bettered her – where she was coming to take them back!
WORD RECORD # 1 – Alicia totally smashed the consecutive 1 minute of Balance T Elevated Leg Pushups on 1/1/23 with 28 reps!
Alicia was excited to participate in The March 8th Worldwide International Women’s Day Challenge completing the same time as last year in the 5k indoor row race with 21:38 (currently ranked 53rd lightweight woman in world among verified results). Then, 10 minutes later – she competed in her first-ever 10k BikeErg race in a time of 23:13 and being ranked 63rd woman in world among verified results.
Two days later (3/10/23), Alicia switched to speed events and competed in the 1k indoor rowing sprint world championship placing 30th lightweight woman in the world. This is her 15th World Championship.
After 4 weeks of middle school distance running and sprint training – the middle school runners were able to compete in an unique and possibly world’s first-ever Cross Country Versatility Contest. The training and racing were created by Coach Alicia Weber. The coach also competed in the events and she did 12.6 seconds for the cross country 100 meter and approx 10 minutes later 5:32 for the cross country mile event. The “Versatility Contest” combines the 100 meter and mile events held back- to -back on soft cross country surface where athletes try to run their fastest times in both events. They are then scored by their finishing place. The lowest placing score wins “MOST VERSATILE”…Complete Results are at this link. The “Most Versatile” runner won both the 100 meter in 12.9 seconds and 1 mile in 6:47 – 13 year old Etienne!! The great news is that ALL runners ran personal bests in the 100 meter and the mile events. Some improved their mile times by 2 minutes!! It was a “runderful” and fun event for everyone!
FINALLY, we will talk about Florida wildlife. Alicia and her family have spring birthdays and they have a ritual of finding their birthday animals! They enjoy hiking and visiting animals either in the wild OR in zoos. They had 4 amazing experiences this spring.
